How should I do my makeup with a red prom dress?
I would suggest some really dramatic black eyes. Here’s how I’d do it…
Prime your eyes with something really good (either Urban Decay Primer Potion or TooFaced Shadow Insurance). Apply a pale highlighter under your brows. Sweep some neutral coloured eyeshadow across your eyelid and a slightly darker (but still neutral and nude and understated) brown-tan colour in your crease to make your eyes pop. Add a dot of highlighter to your inner corners (or a bit of white eyeliner and blend it out, if you don’t have a liquid highlight). Line your lower lash line with a black pencil eyeliner (Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil doesn’t budge, try that). Then take a black liquid eyeliner (felt tip liners, like Bourjois Liner Feutre or similar, are easier to work with) and thickly line your upper lash line. Wing it out at the corners and connect the wing to the top line. Curl your eyelashes and add 2-3 coats of mascara for really dramatic lashes.
Tokidoki Launches New Makeup Line Exclusively at Sephora
Rushing to the launch party for tokidoki’s new makeup line for Sephora, I booked it through Midtown Manhattan hoping to find the event space without a problem. Still light outside, I arrived at the address and peering into the space, I felt like I was about to enter either a time warp of some awesome club on a Saturday night. Walking into the space, I was surprised to see a full sized skate ramp complete with three skater chicks doing tricks, full sized tokidoki characters dancing and mingling with the party guests, and donuts served on light sabers. I knew I was in the right place.
tokidoki, the lifestyle brand brain child of Italian designer Simone Legno is all about fun and the criminally cute. Growing up in Italy in the 1980s, Legno was inspired by the Japanimation cartoons and comics that were flooding the culture. Putting his own spin on the idea, Legno launched his brand in the form of clothes, toys, and accessories, and now makeup. tokidoki is a brand that emphasizes technology and has released USB keys, ear phones, and other technology pieces in the past. Now venturing into the world of makeup, tokidoki is partnering with Sephora, a brand Legno says understands “the relationship between fun, creativity, self-expression and color unlike any other retailer.”
Holiday Party Makeup 2009
Holiday Party Makeup 2009 How to do holiday party makeup like a 1940s starlet
Strong eyeliner, red lips and bold brows elevate holiday makeup trends (2009) to something unabashedly retro. If you want to be the talk of the cocktail party, go all out in 1940s-inspired party makeup. Start practicing your vintage starlet look by trying on 1940s makeup in our virtual makeup studio.
“Rock retro party makeup with the hottest holiday nail polish trends: deep plums, greys and blood reds.”
To get the look of a 1940s pinup, apply a nude or shimmery white shadow all over the lid and line only your top lashes with black liquid eyeliner, sweeping it out slightly at the corners for a kittenish effect. Soften the line by going over it with a charcoal eye shadow (applied with a wet or dry eyeliner brush), but do not smudge or “smoke” it out since a bold, clean line is the hallmark of 1940s makeup. If you desire a more dramatic holiday makeup look, experiment with a palette of shimmery plum or matte chocolate eye shadow. Either one can be applied in the crease and swept outward and upward.

Concealers tips in makeup, How to apply concealers, Use of under eye concealers
Concealers come in shades to match every skin tone. These diminish the presence op pimples, marks and dark circles under the eyes. Concealers may be liquid, cream or solid (stick). Moisturize your face first for easier application. To prevent concealer from setting into fine lines, wipe away excess. Blot with a tissue for matte finish. Whether you are fair or dark, your concealer should also have yellow tones. Don’t use a concealer that’s white or more than half a shade lighter than your skin tone. Try for an exact match. Apply before foundation. Set the concealer with powder.
TIP: Sometimes after the use of concealer, foundation may be avoided.
