How can I do my makeup like this?
The eye makeup
Difficulty: Easy Time Required: 5 minutes Here’s How: 1.Prep the lid. The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to kept eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base (also called “primer”). I prefer to dab at bit of MAC’s ‘paint’ on lids before shadow application. Or try Fresh Freshface Perfecting Eye Primer.
2.Apply eyeliner. If you’re going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If your opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a gorgeous smokey eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.
Tip: Best way to apply liquid foundation — My Women Stuff
A couple of weeks ago, I pick up a great tip from a Clarins makeup trainer that I wanted to share with you. It was a bit of a “OMG Why didn’t I think of that?” moment for me and it will save us all a lot of time in the morning.
The woes of Asian makeup
It’s part of the routines of many women: brush on some eyeshadow over the crease of your eyelid, comb your eyelashes with mascara, and maybe even try some bright colors for a change.
However, this just won’t work for me… I don’t have the crease, like half of Asian women. My eyelashes are almost invisible (even compared to my brother). And if I try bright colors, like a light blue or purple, then I just look like a prostitute.

How should I do my makeup with a red prom dress?
I would suggest some really dramatic black eyes. Here’s how I’d do it…
Prime your eyes with something really good (either Urban Decay Primer Potion or TooFaced Shadow Insurance). Apply a pale highlighter under your brows. Sweep some neutral coloured eyeshadow across your eyelid and a slightly darker (but still neutral and nude and understated) brown-tan colour in your crease to make your eyes pop. Add a dot of highlighter to your inner corners (or a bit of white eyeliner and blend it out, if you don’t have a liquid highlight). Line your lower lash line with a black pencil eyeliner (Urban Decay 24/7 eye pencil doesn’t budge, try that). Then take a black liquid eyeliner (felt tip liners, like Bourjois Liner Feutre or similar, are easier to work with) and thickly line your upper lash line. Wing it out at the corners and connect the wing to the top line. Curl your eyelashes and add 2-3 coats of mascara for really dramatic lashes.
