Learn to apply makeup
It took me a while to realize that I was good at applying makeup and I also enjoyed it enough to pursue it as a career. I first thought about becoming a makeup artist when people kept complimenting me on my own makeup and asking me how I got my lashes so long or what eye shadow I used. I realized there were so many women looking for personal help and also a good makeup artist. But, doing makeup for yourself is very different than applying it onto another person’s face. After looking into a lot of the schools out there I saw that I couldn’t afford the thousands of dollars for tuition alone and didn’t want to take out any more student loans. After lots and lots of research I found a DVD package set that promised to teach the details of beauty makeup and how to find work as an event makeup artist (working at special events like weddings). It was very affordable and so I decided it was worth a shot instead of spending tons of money on a school.
The DVD delivered and took my personal talent and learnt how apply makeup to any face. Now I work a few days a week doing makeup for women who have private functions to go to and I make more than I did at my previous office job. With the rest of my time I get enjoy my family more than I ever thought possible.
