It’s a new year! Things change, and that means makeup and hair styles will change also! Going for a natural look or maybe pretty pastels? Either way, I have tips for the new upcoming styles!

Even though we wear uniforms, we can still try and look cute! Right! Let’s make best of the situation and style it up!

Have oily skin? You’re not alone. Lots of people face that problem! Always keep in mind that extra stress and hormones may be the cause of your less than desirable skin situation.

Try:

  A gentle, non-oil face scrub

Hot water to get the oil out of the skin!

A strong bar soap with drying action will help cleanse away added dirt and grime, as well as dry out the oils in the face (Dial soap)

Oil-removal like Clearasil, Neutrogena, and Cetaphil products that will with breakouts and oily skin

Not using a lot of liquid-based foundation, concealer, blush, or eye-shadow that will cause a more oily face Â

Different Types of Foundations            Â

Tinted moisturizers will add a slight tint to your face so you won’t have to wear a lot of foundation to make your face look tanner.

Mousse or Whipped Foundation is easier to apply in thin layers and easier to spread so you don’t wear as much. Mousse makeup is liquid makeup with air whipped in, making it lighter and smoother. It’s great for all skin types.

Cream-to-liquid foundation is made by companies of good reputation, like L’Oreal. It goes on as a liquid but dries to a powder finish.

Minerals are the latest thing in makeup. Their popularity has come about in part due to its few ingredients, which are gentle minerals perfect for people with allergies or sensitive skin. Brush on minerals with a big, puffy brush, building up layers of nearly-invisible powder. It is advertised as a “soft-focus” look. Mineral makeup has been compared with the airbrush in creating great looking skin.

The whole point of eye shadow is to draw attention to the eyes and to give the eyes more definition.

The most important thing to do is to choose colors that complement each other.

If you are dark skinned, you will not want to pick too light of a shade. You will want to stick to shades with dark undertones such as dark brown, deep pink, or deep purple.

No matter what skin color you are, you never want to wear too dark or wild of a shade. It just doesn’t look normal.

To really define the eyes, try to use more than one color by putting a light or sheer color over the entire eyelid, then pick a darker shade and apply it under the eye bone and blend upwards.

Thinking about whether you should get lengthening, curling, thickening or non-smudging mascara? Here are some tips!

A good brand of lengthening mascara is Lancà me Definicil.

Thickening mascara, according to InStyle magazine’s 2006 “Best Beauty Buys” guide is Christian Dior Dior Show.

For waterproof mascara, try Maybelline Lash Discovery.

Non-clumping mascara contains ingredients like silk extract and glycerin. The applicators also have longer wands which allow for a more even application.                                                       Â

Eyeliner is an incredible makeup accessory that many women use as a part of their daily beauty routine. It defines the eyes and makes them pop out.

Gel eyeliner is one of the newer eyeliners on the market. Gel eyeliner is receiving great attention, and justifiably so. Gel eyeliner is thick in texture and applied with a stiff-angled brush for best application.

Pencil eyeliners have been around forever. They are typically hard and don’t spread very well. It usually pulls on the eyelid, making it difficult to put on. When choosing a eyeliner pencil, look for cream eyeliner to ensure for an easier application.

Liquid eyeliner is a must-have, if you are looking to create a dramatic, defined look. It will take serious practice to learn how to apply liquid eyeliner, but once you have it down, you will be hooked!

Play around with different textures, colors, and styles to reveal your prettiest eyes.

The newest eyeliner is a soft powder that goes on the top eyelid and spreads very smoothly. It looks great and has hard bristles that make it easier to apply!
