Makeup tips: How to accentuate blue eyes

As a Blonde and Blue eyed person and one who loves makeup and also a trained Makeup Artist I have had my share of experimenting with Blue Eyes.

In my professional opinion Blues Eyes should always stay away from any shade of Blue, with only the exception of a Grayish Slate color. The best color for blues eyes are browns of all shades and neutrals, these colors bring out the Blue, using a blue shadow only competes with your eye color. Leave these colors for the girls with dark eyes. Brown colors will accentuate blue eyes making them pop. Also contrary to popular fashions, Pink colors tend to make your eyes look tired or sore, and Greens are only acceptable if your eyes have a bit of a greenish-blue color in them.

Putting a lighter color on your lid anywhere from a peach to a tawny light brown. using a black eyeliner, line your eyes next to your lashes in a very thin line barely noticeable. (You can also accomplish this same look for those of you with unsteady hands by making a series of small dots into your eyelashes nest to your lid). Also Pinks tend to make your eyes look tired looking or sore.

Next apply a medium to dark brown eyeliner pencil to the outer edge of your lid just at the corner and 1/4 way into your lid bringing it outward to the corner of your eyes, also the same on the bottom part of your bottom eyelid, (just at the very edge). Now apply with a Qtip same shade of eyeshadow covering the area you just penciled in. Brush away any stray powder with a soft brush.
finish it off with a Black mascara Never use Brown it ends up looking washed up and faded. Coat your eyelashes one coat, let dry then apply another.

Always accentuate under your brow with an off white or a cream color, and since the eye brows are what frames your face, keeping them well groomed will help make your eyes look better and finished. Keep in mind Your brow color should always be at least a shade or two darker than your hair color, if your hair happens to be lighter.

TIP:
One tip for getting eyelashes to stay curled we use in the salon is to quickly run a blow dryer over your eyelash curler heating up the part that curls your lashes (not to hot just warm) then now curl your eyelashes while its warm leaving on for several seconds to cool. Your eyelashes like your hair will curl better when it’s warm and allowed to cool.
