You look FANTASTIC and I especially applaud you for specifying this is a lifestyle change NOT a diet. Over the last 3 years I’ve significantly changed my diet and exercise habits and went from a snug size 22 to a size 14 between weight loss and toning. Unfortunately due to an illness over the last few months I’ve gained a bit back but am ready to go again. This may not help for you with your dietary requirements but possibly for others.

*to do it right you’re going to have to break down and buy a HUGE lunch box if you’re a gal on the go. These can be found in walmart camping sections. They have plenty of extra pockets for dry goods.

*snack about 20 minutes before the gym. Tyson chicken has convenient precooked grilled chicken breasts which work to give an energy boost and get some protein in. I also REALLY like the Luna products. For those a little more flexible on sugars, Luna bars have a great taste and protein. Luna moons are energy chews “formulated for women athletes”. It does have things like organic brown rice sugar/syrup or cane juice but they’re less refined sugars. Same for Cliff Shot Bloks (same company).

*have a daily work out goal. It’s nice to have magazines such as Women’s Health or Oxygen around to get work out ideas. Cardio is SUPER important, but so is some weight training to build muscle. As the muscle develops, the numbers may not show it on the scale but your eyes won’t lie as for transformation. Women’s health also has workouts you can put on your iPod. They give you full circuits and demonstrations on what to do.

*MIX IT UP! Whether it’s workouts or food, you’ll eventually become burned out on the same routine things which can cause a “set back”. Eliptical trainers or treadmills become boring, take a beginner spin class, or instructional dance. It’ll get your gams and ass in shape within weeks if you stick to it.

*Give self praise every day. If you made it to the gym even for 30 minutes of cardio that’s 30 minutes towards a goal. If you really wanted a certain food but talked yourself out of it, that’s a step towards changing your mind and habits. You may not see it in the numbers at first but pay more attention to your body changing. Don’t get defeated. Everyone builds and loses mass differently.
