Lancome’s BiFacil Is The Best Eye Makeup Remover
We’ve already discussed (and hopefully agreed upon) the importance of using a quality eye makeup remover. I sent you off in search of the perfect product, and hopefully you’ve located something that works for you. If, however, you haven’t been able to track down a quality eye makeup remover, this article is for you. I’m going to share my personal experiences with you, as well as my personal preferences.
To give you some background, I’m a professional singer (though, not under this name – this is the name I write dirty novels under!) and work in the limelight. This tends to make the average line of cosmetics stream down one’s face in a most unattractive way. Therefore, I use waterproof mascara and waterproof concealer. Both of which tend to go a bit wonky by the end of the night. Believe me when I tell you I’m always eager to get home and clean it off!
Let me start by telling you how I used to do that.
Back in the day, I just picked up whatever the local grocery store had on display. I thought Revlon was super duper, because the models on TV had great complexions after they washed their faces with it. Erm, yeah. Don’t worry, eventually I caught on. I began to suspect the redness in my face might actually be caused by the crappy all-purpose product I was washing it with.
So I started looking for something better. I asked around. At the time, most of my friends were using Nivea. I tried it, but found their products too greasy for my skin. The next recommendation was Clinque – which a few friends were really avid about. So I tried it. Almost overnight, the Revlon-induced redness went away. I was elated. Who knew I had normal skin under all that irritation?
But the love affair was short-lived.
Clinique’s Comforting Cream Cleanser turned against me. Or, more specifically, my eyes. They started to look tired, dry, and taut. I didn’t make the connection for awhile, to be honest. I ran out and started stocking up on eye creams, thinking I was suddenly aging at the speed of light. I was only 27 at the time, but I was convinced a big ‘ole pair of crows feet were about to march all over my face.
And then I discovered Lancome, via their fantastic eye creams.
I started with a face wash that wasn’t safe for use on the eyes, which prompted me to buy my first bottle of eye makeup remover. From day one, I saw a marked difference in my skin and overall complexion.
What do I use?
Lancome’s Bi-Facial. It runs about $25 in the US (and costs twice that over here, for some reason!) and a 4 oz bottle lasts me about 6 months. I love it. LOVE IT! Dab it on a cotton pad, gently swipe the eyes, and a few seconds later I’m defunked and good as new.
I’ve also tried Helena Rubenstein’s All Mascaras, but wasn’t impressed. It took twice as much cleanser and twice as much effort to get rid of my raccoon eyes. Not to mention, it didn’t leave the undereye area feeling all soft and silky like Lancome does.
Lancome’s Bi-Facial rawks – I give it an A+
xx Isabella
