How To Make Fake Bruises: Makeup for Halloween
“Hi! This is Cable. I am going to show you some tips and tricks for Halloween makeup. If you want to make bruises and abrasions, it is pretty easy. You can apply the makeup in layers. We will start with a bruise wheel that has four different colors: red, purple, blue and green, for the various stages of bruising. Let us make a recently fresh bruise. What we can do first is apply a base color say with a wedge. Start with a reddish color, and stipple it on the area, not too evenly; and as you apply the makeup, rotate the sponge in different ways to avoid detectable patterns. Now next, what you need to do is set this makeup so that it does not smear, and then you can move on and apply the next layer. What you can do is add some translucent powder to a velor puff, brush off the excess, and then set the first layer of makeup. Now let us add the second layer. We use our stipple sponge to add a little more texture, to simulate broken capillaries and tiny little scrapes; we will stick with the red, maybe mix in some purple too. It is best to have a darker in the middle and gradually less towards the outside of the bruise. And when you are happy with your pattern, you can again take your translucent powder and set it. It looks a little white now, but the oils in the makeup will absorb the powdery look. You can brush off any excess powder with a loose powder brush. And there is some simple bruising. ”
