Bare Minerals Foundation Cosmetic review of Bare Essentials Foundation

Base Escentuals has been around since 1976. But today it is more popular then ever. Having been selected by Glamour Magazine for two years in a row as the Readers’ Choice Award for Best Prestige Foundation and glamour boutiques opening all over the country. Although the company offers many products, the foundation is what they are famous for.

The i.d. bareMinerals foundation is a 3-step process.

First you apply the bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation, which comes in a very fine powder form. Buffing it into the skin it will begin to hide your skin imperfections. It goes on very light, impossible to feel against your skin. It gives fairly good coverage, especially on acne. I found that it did not cover dark circles as well. I tried the Bare Escentuals eye shadow, Well Rested, to cover the dark circles and it worked a lot better. It does have a shimmer, so if you have fine lines around your eyes. I would not recommend the eye shadow for concealing.

The second step is the fun step, warmth. Warmth does just what its name says…it adds warmth to your skin. This is great for a fast look of applying a little to the crease of the eye and on the cheekbones. You can use warmth as your everyday blush. I prefer to use it with a pink blush, applied to the apples of my checks.

Last step is the Mineral Veil; this gives you the finishing touch. Mineral veil gives staying power and helps set your makeup. This is also a fine powder that is applied in the same, swirl-tap-buff.

I have enjoyed the Bare Minerals Foundation. It does not look cakey like a majority of liquid foundation. I do not feel that the coverage is as great as the infomercials appear to be. If you have a lot of skin imperfections this will not work miracles for you. But if you have minor skin problems, this might be the perfect foundation for you.

Helpful Hints:

• I found it was better application if you applied bare minerals after moisturizer when your skin was slightly sticky to the touch.
• For middle of the day touch ups, applying a light layer of moisturizer again over your skin helps the touch up adhere better. So if you just need to reapply on your forehead, just apply the moisturizer to your forehead and reapply the foundation.
• The concealer brush is a MUST for a flawless finish.

Comments For the very first time; i actually love foundation because of this product, thanks to “bareMinerals” i have used other brands before, which i did not like. So i dumped them in the bin. Which was a waste of money; i didn’t like the other brands because they were very cakey and oily. Main thing was it didn’t look natural on me. So after trying, i gave up and just stopped wearing foundation or even looking for one.
Till i saw this brand, i thought what a interesting name. So i did some research, looked at reviews etc. I found out that it had alot of good feedback from other customers. So after 2days, i decided to get the “TRY, BELIEVE, LOVE kit” which costed me  15 from Denbenhams. When i opened the box, i was amazed how tiny the little boxes are. At such a expensive price. But today when i actually use the Swirl,Tap,Buff method i was suprised that all i needed was a little bit of the foundation and im done. My skin looked flawless! After realising i use such little amount of Bareminerals and it make my skin looks healthy & Glowy. Its definitly worth the price, its a good coverage too. Im sure these little special boxes which contains my vaulable minerals will last me a long time. P.s The foundation doesn’t hide the dark circles under your eyes. But overal its a great product. I recommend this to anyone. Who is sick of cakey/dry/oily foundation.Very good on sensitive skin too!
