A Beginner’s Guide to Applying Makeup Correctly
Applying makeup correctly to put your best face forward does not have to be a time consuming routine. These simple but expert tips can help you perfect the art of applying makeup in the most natural manner to enhance your looks.
The first step to applying makeup correctly is to choose the right concealer and foundation or you could end up with a caked look. Choose a concealer that is one shade lighter than your foundation and apply it on any blemishes or under-eye circles. Blend it well either with your fingertips or with a sponge. The foundation should exactly match your skin tone and the best way to get a natural look is to do it with your fingers over the central part of your face and then blend it outwards. Remember to apply on your ears and neck region as well.
After applying the foundation, use pressed or loose face powder which can help the foundation to last longer and remove any shine. Always keep compact powder at hand for touch-ups through the day. Applying makeup correctly is an art and eye makeup is probably the most important of this. Start beautifying your eyes by doing your brows first; instead of using a pencil, you can apply powdered eyebrow shadow to get a natural look.
You can either go in for a single shade of eye shadow or use different shades or blend it in for a more artistic effect. Remember to use the darker shade just above the eye lashes and the lighter one towards the brows to open out your eyes. Next, use a liquid eyeliner or kohl to line the lower lid and outer eyelid. Finish off with two coats of mascara to the upper and lower eyelashes.
The last part of applying makeup correctly is to apply lipstick. Choose a light shade for the day and a darker one for your evenings out. It is always better to apply the lipstick evenly on the lips and then line the outer edges using a lip pencil or you could end up with a frosty look.
